Demetria Lucas D'Oyley is a award winning author, life coach and blogger. She is also a star cast member of Bravo's hit TV show called Blood, Sweat and Heels that airs Sundays at 9:00 pm. The recently married author spoke about how she became a critically acclaimed writer of her blog A Belle in Brooklyn and her time at Essence Magazine. In between writing A Belle in Brooklyn: The Go to Guide for Living Your Best Single Life and Don't Waste Your Pretty: The Go to Guide for Making Smart Decisions in Life & Love she is the founder of a life- coaching boutique style service Coached By Belle. Demetria is currently on a nationwide book tour to promote her second book Don't Waste Your Pretty : The Go to Guide for Making Smart Decisions in Life & Love. She also contributes to numerous publications and various talk shows in regards to relationships. Many have said she is the black Carrie Bradshaw!

I had the pleasure of hearing Demetria speak about her new book, love, life, professions and more at a event I attended last week called "Don't Waste Your Pretty". The event was put on by ColorComm at the Inglot Cosmetics Studios here in New York. While at the event we had wonderful refreshments provided by Jose Cuervo and Good Eats Cupcakes. My friend that accompanied me to the event got her hair styled at the Braid Bar by Swivel Beauty ( a new hair styling app to recommend stylists in your area). Also we both got a chance to purchase Demetria's book and got it autographed.
