My Everyday Beauty

Everyday Beauty

** I do actually use these products everyday. They make my morning routine very easy for me to get out the door quickly. I purchased the Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation, Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, and the TooFaced Better Than Sex Mascara at Sephora but you can find them at any major beauty retail store. COCONUT OIL!!! I gave into the craze and I'm soo glad I did which I got at Trader Joe's. There are many uses for it... I like to wash my face with it, and moisturize my skin with it before putting on foundation especially in these cold months. You can never go wrong with any Nivea lip care product. Last but not least can't leave the house without smelling good, I love my Omnia Crystalline by Bvlgari. It has a nice soft sent that lasts all day and can pair nicely with other scents. I've gotten a few compliments when wearing it.

A BRIEF REVIEW OF SOME OF THE PRODUCTS:

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Foundation $32:  I love how it goes on very easy and it really is weightless. I apply it with a foundation brush instead of a sponge.I don't pile it on because it has great coverage with 1- 2 pumps. The coverage lasts me all day which is pretty good because I'm constantly touching my face throughout the day. The bottle usually lasts me a while (6 months).

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz $21: I can not leave my house without my eyebrows looking good. (trust, I'm no an expert on eyebrows). I have found that using this product gives me the best results. I like to fill my brows in a little...they get a little crazy at the ends. This pencil glides on very smooth and thin giving off natural hair like strokes ( I hate the thick sharpie marker looking brows). So if you want a natural but full looking brow I would recommend this product, also it normally last me for 3-4 months.

Trader Joe's Coconut Oil $5.99: Okay at first I was hesitant to buy this because my mom said "No, that's for cooking". I got it anyways because my friends raved about it plus it couldn't hurt right. So far I mostly use the coconut oil on my face but you can use it to moisturize just about anything from hair to nails and your body. I don't have many complaints so far about it and this jar is going to last me for a while.

TooFaced Better Than Sex Mascara $23: I've heard about this mascara before and it had gotten rave reviews. I use it in conjunction with my CoverGirl Lash Blast Volume mascara. This mascara does add volume and length to my lashes, great for a night out or everyday wear. I will say that it is very thick and can be clumpy on the brush. An easy fix for that would be to gently tab the brush on some tissue before applying it to your lashes.

Kehlani UNCAPPED

Like the title of my Blog...I try to stay on the go here in New York City. Well in this adventure I ended up going to the Fader Uncapped. Uncapped is a series of 5 concerts by various artists in the span of 5 nights in one city put on by Fader and Vitaminwater. This year was Uncappeds 5 year anniversary of the concert series.  I got a chance to go on 4th night which featured the artists; ThunderCat and Kehlani. Both are emerging new artist and both have great music. I will admit I was not familiar with ThunderCat but he was pretty good. I was super excited to see Kehlani perform. I've been listening to her for a few months now. I will post one of her music videos at the end of this post. Some of the other artists featured in the Uncapped series are; Matt & Kim, Sevyn Streeter, Alessia Cara, Passion Pit, Jojo, Austin Millz, Kehlani, Thundercat, Chance the Rapper, Willow Smith, and various DJ's.

Stations to make the customized shirts.
I love a event that has free goodies. Vitaminwater provided the drinks (alcoholic) for everyone ...I would have never thought to mix vitaminwater and alcohol but it was actually pretty good. They also featured stations where you could customize your own t-shirt to celebrate Uncapped 5th year anniversary (pictured above). It was quick and easy to do and your shirt was ready to pickup at the end of the concert. Featured below is my t-shirt design. I went with Lady Liberty theme for the front and my name on the back with a lovely pink/ purple wave design.

NFL Style: Fashion Meets Football!!

It's finally FALL!!! Even though I did enjoy the summer months roaming the city and roof tops with friends, its now my favorite time of year. What's not to love about Fall? You have Fashion Week, Football, and Fall TV shows come back on. Oh yeah and lets not forget about the cooler days, warm drinks, and the yummy food for the holidays. In this post I mainly want to talk about Fashion and Football. What happens when you mix the two together? You get NFL Style! I had the pleasure of attending a NFL Style event here in NYC a few weeks ago. Where they showcased  new female fan apparel. The event featured mannequins and live models wearing the latest football teams apparel from clothes to shoes and jewelry.  Lulu DK Tattoos also joined in on the fun with NFL metallic jewelry/ flash tattoo. They had metallic tattoos for all the teams and of course I had to try out one for the home team Atlanta Falcons.

Some of the styled looks featured t-shirts, sweaters, jackets of the various football teams! Apparel can be found on www.nflshop.com/Women

Enjoying the event with my friend!
Rep'n for the home team
During the showcase they had a styling competition with a few New York fashion bloggers. They had to style their models in their favorite team's apparel according to different themes. The categories were: Athleisure ( sporty chic), Casual Friday, and Game Day. The winning blogger won season tickets to the team of their choice.
